Several course providers have received their approval to offer Pit & fissure Certification courses. Upon successfully completing this course, RDAs are able to apply sealants in the dental office and specified settings. Visit COMDA's website for details and course listings.
Registered Dental Assistant Programs and Licensing
Individuals wishing to apply for their RDA can do so by two paths until further notice.
The first is to attend and graduate from an approved Dental Assisting Program. Graduates are eligible immediately to take the RDA exams.
The second is to work as a Dental Assistant for a licensed dentist for a minimum 12 months and complete approved Coronal Polish and Xray certification courses. Upon completion of these prerequisites, the assistant is eligible to take the RDA exams.
