November 2007

To: All Dental Auxiliaries

The CDA Foundation would like to encourage all dental auxiliaries, including students, to take the First Smiles course. This course provides science-based, clinically relevant information to help dental teams provide not only the recommended age one dental visit, but appropriate parent education and preventive care as well. It also provides the latest clinical information on how to detect caries and provide early interventions to reverse the disease process.

This course is approved for two Category I continuing education credits upon receipt of the enclosed posttest. Credits will be issued via mail 4-6 weeks of receiving the posttest. Supporting materials and a previously recorded webcast on caries management can be found at www.first5oralhealth.org .

The First Smiles Education and Training Project is the result of a 4-year, $7 million grant from First 5 California awarded to the CDA Foundation and the Dental Health Foundation. The CDA Foundation would appreciate everyone's participation.
